To insure your salmon stays as fresh as possible make sure to do the following:

1) Bleed your fish as soon as you have taken it out of the water.

2) Place the salmon on ice as soon as it has bled out.

3) Clean the fish as soon as possible after you are done fishing.

4) Handle your salmon with care and place them in a plastic bag after cleaning and remove as much air as possible or vacuum seal bags.

5) Freeze as soon as possible.
