Fish Batter Recipe

This is one of our favorite fish batter recipes and it serves 4 -6 people.  This can work on pretty much any white fish.  We use this often on our freshwater walleyes, pike, perch, and crappies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Sift all of the dry ingredients together.
  2. Add water and mix the rest of the ingredients until smooth.
  3. Coat the fish fillets.
  4. Cover the fish completely in oil (I use vegetable oil).
  5. Deep fry until a nice golden brown.  It’ll float when ready.

This is a simple fish batter recipe that is a great crowd pleaser!
