		<description>When I cook elk roast in the crockpot I cook 4 or 5 strips of bacon until crispy, then crumble them up and add them to the crockpot when I begin cooking the roast. 8 hrs later the bacon has essentially dissolved into the meat and gravy and adds the perfect amount of salt and fat.</description>
